Slippery Elm Toothpaste DIY

A healthy mouth is an important part of having a healthy body, yet many conventional toothpastes contain harmful ingredients that link to health issues. This DIY natural toothpaste is a super easy recipe to help keep your smile bright and promote good oral health. It contains our Slippery Elm Lozenges (finely crushed), which acts as a soothing demulcent; coconut oil, that has natural antibacterial properties and helps prevent tooth decay; baking soda, to neutralize acid-loving bacteria (responsible for causing cavities); Peppermint Essential Oil, which fights bacteria and balances the mouth’s pH; and, raw cacao powder, a superfood for your teeth. It fights cavities, plaque and tooth decay, and it tastes good too!

What You’ll Need

• ¼ cup of Coconut Oil
• 1 tbsp of finely crushed Thayers Slippery Elm Lozenges
• 2 tbsp Baking Soda

• 1 tsp Raw Cacao Powder

Mix Well. Transfer the mixture into a small jar and refrigerate until ready to use. Once opened, store in a cool, dark place for 2-3 weeks. To use, scoop a small amount of Slippery Elm toothpaste onto your toothbrush.
