I was really excited about the launch of the deodorant, and it didn’t disappoint! I was concerned about the inclusion of baking powder (sodium bicarbonate) because it usually gives me a rash, but something about this version doesn’t bother my sensitive pits. It smells just like cucumber water seems to be holding up during the hot and humid DC summer! My only “complaint” has nothing to do with the product, but shipping is cost prohibitive, so I hope the deodorant is soon available in stores that sell Thayers.

I was excited that Thayers was coming out with a deodorant line because I switched to natural deodorants on the last couple of years. I was really pleased with this product at first. But then After a few months of using it I started getting a rash. I thought it was ingrown hairs but the bumps were just outside of my hair follicle and I had this intense itchy and burning feeling. I discontinued use right away and it cleared up. I looked at the ingredients and realized it had the same ingredients from another brand that I also had a reaction to. I believe the ingredients with the grapefruit, orange, lemon and citrus are the culprit. I had a reaction to a lime deodorant in the past and read that ingredients with citrus or citrus essential oils can lead to a rash because it is very acidic. I looked at the ingredients in the rose deodorant as well and it has the same ingredients. Even though this particular product did not work for me. I am still a loyal customer and love the Rose face tonic.

Hi Jennah,
Thanks for reaching out to us. While we are glad to hear you are a fan of our Rose Petal Facial Toner, we are sorry to hear about your poor experience with our Cucumber Deodorant. Unfortunately, since everyone’s skin is unique, not all our products will work the same way for everyone. We do hope you find more suitable deodorant options for your skin!

Sucks. Doesn’t do the job. I smelled like BO bad. Lume deodorant works the best

Hi Deneka,
Thanks for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear the Cucumber Deodorant is not providing you with results. If you are transitioning from a regular to natural deodorant, you might be experiencing a detox process where your body is getting rid of any heavy metals and toxins commonly found in conventional deodorants. As everyone’s body chemistry is different, this detox process will vary in length, but will soon pass. During this time, you might smell unpleasant but rest assured this is merely temporary and not as a result of the natural deodorant not working. I hope this information helps!
