All of our witch hazel astringents and toners, except our medicated options, do not have expiration dates. However, we do recommend usage within two years of opening.

Variations in color and clarity within our products can be expected due to the naturally occurring ingredients we use. In addition to being a natural ingredient, Witch Hazel is also a seasonal item, and variations will occur during our cold press process. You can rest assured your Thayers skincare product is still safe to use despite these variations.

Our Facial Toners are alcohol free and are for cleansing, moisturizing and toning the skin. Our Astringents are alcohol based and are more suited to those with oily & acne-prone skin to further help control oil production and acne causing bacteria.

There is no difference in formula between Thayers Facial Toners and Facial Mists. The only difference is the delivery system!

Tannins are what make our Witch Hazel special! They’re naturally occurring substances found in the bark or skin of the Hamamelis Virginiana, AKA witch hazel. Our Witch Hazel undergoes an extraction process similar to brewing tea. This helps retain 195% more tannins. Tannins have mild antioxidant properties, which can help clean, clear, and add a nice glow to your skin.

The PH level of our Witch Hazel formula is 5-5.5.

Although we do not have samples available here to send you, most of the larger stores that sell our brand offer displays of our premium skincare product line to help you choose the product that is right for you. From time to time, some stores will offer special promotions on our products, too.

Thayers bottles are packaged in BPA-free plastic.

All Thayers products are vegan, with the exception of our Slip Balms which contain beeswax.

Yes, all Thayers products are gluten free.

We are proud to say we do not do any animal testing. Thayers is a vegan and cruelty-free brand and through a long-standing commitment to creating pure, effective, cruelty-free products of the highest natural quality, we have built a loyal consumer base!

Our Glycerin is derived from palm. The glycerin used in Thayers skincare products is completely soy free.

Unless specifically labeled for use on children, our witch hazel skincare products are not formulated for or tested on children. Please check with your child’s pediatrician if you have questions about the use of a specific product. In accordance with US Consumer Product Safety Commission’s definition, we consider a child to be 12 years old and under.

While every ingredient we use in our skincare products is evaluated for safety, we do not specifically test our products on women who are pregnant or nursing.

Thayers ensures there is substantial information supporting the safety of our products when used as directed by consumers. However, as there could be certain ingredients that physicians may not recommend for use during pregnancy and nursing, we always recommend that you discuss this with your physician and follow their advice.
